CMLC is a Special Purpose Private School and Day Treatment Facility located in the heart of the Belgrade Lakes Region, an area known for its numerous lakes, rolling hills, and fertile farmland. CMLC provides Special Education and school-based Social Work Services for students that, for a variety of academic, social, and behavioral reasons, are unable to access the educational programming offered by their sending district. CMLC currently serves over 16 districts in the area and offers specially designed, individualized instruction Special Education case-management services to ensure that the academic goals and objectives in each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) are being implemented. Social Workers at CMLC work with the students on improving their functionality in the classroom setting. The Social Workers create an Individual Treatment Plan (ITP) for each student that identifies behaviors that prevent the student from accessing their education at a less restrictive setting. The goals identified in the ITP are tracked by Behavioral Health Professionals (BHP) that provide direct support to the students on a daily basis.
CMLC offers a high staff to students ratio in all classes and activities. Mathematics, Social Studies, Language Arts and Science are the core subjects that all students partake in. Applied classes, such as Agricultural studies, utilize the farm and green house on campus for growing a variety of plants and vegetables. Animal care and maintenance are also a focus of the Agricultural Studies program. CMLC also features a state-of-the-art Wood Shop for a Building Trades program, a gymnasium for daily Physical education and an Art room. Students may also participate in weekly off-campus field trips and periodic guest speakers.
